Rent of canoes in Sweden

Nordic Discovery offer modern canoes made in modern material. The canoes are founded in the strong hard plastic material polyethylene. There are 40 canoes in the fleet. The canoes can be moved over Västmanland and the south of Dalarna on bookings. The fleet also contains 20 single kayaks and 5 double kayaks

A steady and direction steady canoe which we are very contented with. A Polyethylene canoe in sandwich construction with very small separated air cells which make the canoe firm and give a inbuilt flotation. The flotation gives safety and more packing space. To be compared with canoes without inbuilt flotation with flotation blocks of foam blocking the packing space in the front and in the back

The modern material has proved to be superior compared to the older materials. The material with the many advantage is chosen by most canoe rentals which started their business in the 21st century. The canoes are seaworthy for two adults and one child up to 6 years

Paddle information and trip proposals

Nordic Discovery's personal service includes paddle information and trip proposals. On arrival a information briefing about the canoe trails and the area will be hold in front of maps. Certified Canoe Center

Nordic Discovery is a certified Canoe Center according to the Swedish National Canoe Association's standards

"You can feel secure if you contact a certified Canoe Center, then you know that the safety and the information is taken cared of according to certain standards" The Swedish Canoe Association

The Canoe Center is strategic located in the middle of the wilderness between two nice canoe trails. The Canoe Station is open daily 08:00-21:00 between break-up of the ice to freeze-up. Approximately from the end of April to the beginning of November. Road descriptions to the Canoe Center >>

We are uneven number of paddlers - what to do ?

The most common question to a Canoe Center is: How can everyone paddle when we are an uneven number, is it necessary to drop somebody back home ? The answer is no. The salvation is the sea kayak and all hesitations concerned to kayak paddling are explained on the kayak section. How to pack our gears ?

Most of the canoe is open and you are recommended to protect your equipment from getting wet. Recommend is to pack in water proof bags. Water proof bags on 50 litres are available for rent. An option is to pack in plastic bags. More about additional equipment >>
