Guided ice-skating tour in the Swedish wilderness

Between firm ice and snow on the ice there is usually a golden period with perfect ice which makes fantastic good ice skating tours possible. Normally this period of time occurs between mid December to mid January

Ice-skating tour, 2 days

The native and experienced ice skating guide Mikael Nilsson take you during two daytrips to the best (after current conditions) ice skating lakes within the Nature Reserve Malingsbo/Kloten. When the winter darkness cover the wild forest, you will eat a two course dinner in the light of candles at Kloten´s Wilderness Lodge. After dinner there is time for ice skating stories and wild animal talk in the warm and friendly ambient in front of the fire. At the Wilderness Lodge the participants will have a good night sleep in comfortable beds

The Wilderness Lodge is located between the two ice skating lakes LÃ¥ngvattnet and Klotensjön. If the ice is good the standard program is day tours on both lakes. The boots toe is fixed with a metal bow and the heal is fixated with a sturdy nylon string. The ice skates are of good quality and in very good shape. The equipment is from 2010-2008

The ice skating tour is passing through the heart of one of few wolf territories in Sweden. Sometimes we see wolf tracks and skeletons of taken moose. It happens that we hear the wolfs howling in a distance. The chance is there that we see wolfs on the tour

Ice skating tour - Back up option

As the arrangement of the ice skating tours are in the hands of nature conditions there can be occasions when the nature conditions change to the planned dates of the arrangements. If this happens the planned ice skating tour will instead be arranged according to the snow shoe hike program. Read about the hiking tour on snow shoes >>
